We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy and operating methods. Responsibility

The Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for ensuring that this environmental policy is implemented, however, all employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objective of this policy are met.

Policy aims

We endeavor to:

·       Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements

·       Continually improve and monitor environmental performance

·       Continually improve and reduce environmental impacts

·       Incorporate environment factors into business decisions

·       Increase employee awareness and training

·       Champion environmentalism through our products, services and information on our website

Paper & Card

We will:

·       Minimise the use of paper in the office

·       Reduce packaging as much as possible

·       Seek to buy recycled and recyclable paper products

·       Reuse and recycle all paper where possible

·       Package products in recyclable paper/card materials

Energy and water

We will seek to:

·       Reduce the amount of energy used as much as possible

·       Switch off lights and electrical equipment when not in use

·       Adjust heading with energy consumption in mind

·       Take energy consumption and efficiency of new products into account when purchasing them

Office Supplies

We will:

·       Evaluate if the need can be met in another way

·       Evaluate the environmental impact of any new products or equipment we intent to purchase

·       Favour more environmentally friendly and efficient products wherever possible

·       Re-use and recycle everything we are able to

Supply Chain

We will:

·       Where possible make use of UK originated products and services to reduce the length of logistics chain

·       Work with suppliers that take their environmental responsibility as seriously as we do

·       Review our supply chain annually to ensure that we need our environmental aims

Products and Services

As a manufacturer of products, we will:

·       Develop and delivery products to the highest environmental standards

·       We will not use single use plastics within our products where ever possible

·       We will clearly mark our products with details of how to recycle them to encourage our customers to protect the environment

·       Endeavor to reduce environmental waste through the design and delivery of our products e.g. multi-use products

·       Wherever possible we will not ship water unnecessarily. We will encourage our customers to use water locally to them e.g. tap or rain water, which could reduce their carbon footprint by 300 to 1000 times compared to shipping bottled water. Please see Link for a study on the topic.

·       Through the design of our products encourage our customers to maintain high environmental standards through re-using / refilling products and recycling at end of life.

Distribution

We will:

·       Package items in the smallest size packaging possible thereby limiting packaging waste

·       We will not use plastic packing tape

·       We will limit the mass of our products to minimise the impact of transportation

·       We will ensure that our products are adequately packaged to ensure that no spills can harm the environment

Transportation

We will:

·       Reduce the need to travel, restricting to necessity trips only

·       Promote the use of travel alternative such as e-mail or video/phone conferencing

·       Make additional efforts to accommodate the needs of those using public transport or bicycles

Monitoring and improvement

We will:

·       Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements

·       Continually improve and monitor environmental performance

·       Continually improve and reduce environmental impacts

·       Incorporate environmental factors into business decisions

·       Increase employee awareness through training

·       Review this policy and any related business issues at monthly management meetings

Culture

We will:

·       Review and if required update this policy at least once annually in consultation with staff and other stakeholder where necessary

·       Involve staff in the implementation of this policy, for greater commitment and improved performance

·       Provide staff with relevant environmental training

·       Work with suppliers, contracts and subcontractors to improve their environmental performance.

·       Use local labor and materials where available to reduce carbon footprint and help the community.
